In this tutorial you learn how to render a wireframe animation of a model. We start by creating a simple 5 second animation, then tweak some render settings using the Maya Vector Render plug-in. When the animation is rendered into an SWF it's then imported into Flash for further editing.

I hope you enjoy this high definition video. This is my first HD video for Youtube. I made this model following the "Female Android Modeling in Maya" tutorial from Digital Tutors. Instead of leaving it on my hard drive doing nothing I made a video of the female android which also shows an overlap of the wireframe. I used Maya 7.0 to make the model, texture it, add lighting (High Dynamic Range Image HDRI), and render it (using mental ray for the model and Maya Vector for the wireframe). I followed this by using Adobe After Effects CS3 for the compositing and final render. Here are the final render settings I used: Video Settings Format: H.264 Video Codec: MainConcept H.264 Video Size: 1280 x...

For all those who asked how I built my cajon... look at this model carefully (made with AutoCAD 2011 by the way). Measures really don't matter, it all depends on what sound you want. Top, bottom, left and right panels are 10mm thick. Front and rear panels are 3mm plywood. There are two coiled springs behind the front panel, producing the snare sound. There is a sliding panel to change the size of the hole. The rest should be clear from the animated model.

Hi friends. Here is another 3D model from "Thomas and Friends" I have made. I used Animation:Master for modelling and rendering. The last rotation reveals the wireframe, so that you can get an impression of how he is built :) I really want to make more of his friends, but it is really hard to find good reference and pictures of them. If anyone knows where I can get my hands on good resources such as blueprints or images I would really appreciate it. Please let me know. agep_tm (at) hotmail (dot) com

(...2..) This is a rendered result after processing the wireframe model.... Now you can see that the cycles seen as wireframe in clip no.1 -are creating the star shape. At this point we get the results of our work, where we can see, almost touch the texturs and there properties. Every second is rendered by 25 frames, so this short clip is close to 1000 frames.... which is the computer rendering process... The result is always a surprising outcome, unknown- a birthing process!!! Next step is using this finished clip as a base to a 10 min. clip by reediting and manipulating the clip as you can see in the 3´rd finished movie.

My new demo reel of CG Models. Everything was made in 2007-2008. Turntables are low-res with normal maps. Stills are high-res without any mapping. Composite is low quality for internet use. -GorDON
